There are just some books that are so classic and SO good, everyone should have them on their shelves. Pilgrims Progress on one of them. It is beautiful allegory about a man who is headed to the Celestrial City, the place he feels called to go but along the way there are many obstacles. Some believe it is the second only to the Bible itself in the number of copies sold worldwide. First published in 1678, this 330 year old allegory written by John Bunyan while incarcerated for preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ without a license is as pertinent today as it was when it was written.
Dangerous Journey: The Story of Pilgrim’s Progress is the version for children of all ages. Pilgrims Progress is good for teens and adults but this version is for ALL ages. I can NOT tell you how much my family loves this book, there were times I had to stop because I could feel the Holy Spirit speaking to me, it is that powerful. The illustrations are phenomenal!!!!!!!!!! They cover the whole pages and when I read this the first time, I was reading it to my oldest-by the time I got through the first chapter all of my children were around me listening. It has that kind of effect on them and wow the lessons that are taught are amazing! Your kids will learn about temptation, evil, trials and SO much more. They don’t sugar coat the truth or water down anything but your children can handle it, it is based on the story of the Gospel and they need to hear this incredible message!
